It's being called a low-grade hamstring strain in his left leg, and he'll be re-evaluated in a week, which will cost him at least three more games.
Beal has already missed 15 of the Wizards' 39 games this season due to a quadriceps contusion, a bout with COVID-19, a right hamstring strain and now a left one.
“It’s tough,” Beal said. “It’s frustrating. I always preach, ‘Your best ability is your availability,’ and I haven’t been that. That piece is definitely frustrating, but I have to stay encouraged and understand that there’s still more that I can contribute to the game, be here for my teammates and just make sure that I’m 100 percent before I go back out here."
The Wizards have won six of their last eight games, ever since going with the two-bigs starting lineup of Daniel Gafford and Kristaps Porziņģis.
