4-Player Trade For Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets
The Atlanta Hawks have made a deadline day trade. No, despite what you might be thinking, it didn't involve John Collins, the most discussed trade target of the past two years. Instead, the Hawks receive Garrison Mathews and Bruno Fernando from the Houston Rockets, and send Justin Holiday and Frank Kaminsky down to Texas.

Hawks receive:
Garrison Mathews
Bruno Fernando
Rockets receive:
Justin Holiday
Frank Kaminsky
The Rockets will also receive two future second-round picks (OKC's 2024 and 2025 seconds).
Apparently, both the Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets discussed possible trades involving Collins in recent days, but nothing came to pass.

The trade essentially buys the Hawks some salary cap relief.
Holiday ($6.3M) and Kaminsky ($1.8M) are on expiring contracts.

Mathews and Fernando have non-guaranteed contracts in 2023/24.
Mathews also has a team option in 2024/25 and Fernando contract is non-guaranteed. https://t.co/pqTNRi1joR
Holiday and Kaminsky were earning about $8.1M total, while Fernando and Mathews' contracts total just $4.7M, and are totally non-guaranteed for next season.
