Brooklyn Nets Hand Out Multi-Year Extension
With another Brooklyn Nets season spiralling out of control back in late October, (due, largely to Kyrie Irving's indiscretions and suspension, and a 2-5 start), the team fired head coach Steve Nash and handed the reigns to assistant Jacque Vaughn.
It took some time, but Vaughn had the team finding its groove before too long, and has shown tremendous leadership while instilling a sense of calm. The Nets are 32-19 since Vaughn took over, and he's now been rewarded with a multi-year extension.

Vaughn was an assistant for the Nets from 2016-22 before being tabbed as Nash's replacement on an interim basis (though not before the organization flirted with throwing gas on the fire by considering the suspended Ime Udoka for the job.)
The 48-year-old Vaughn had the "interim" tag removed recently, and now, per Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, his contract has been extended through the 2026-27 season.
