Detroit Pistons' Bojan Bogdanovic to Miss Monday's Game Against Charlotte Hornets
The Detroit Pistons will be without their leading scorer for Monday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. The Pistons announced that Bojan Bogdanovic did not travel with the team to Charlotte and will therefore miss tonight's matchup.
Bogdanovic has been an ironman for the Pistons this season, appearing in 58 of a possible 61 games, including Saturday's 95-91 loss to the Toronto Raptors. He's also been the team's workhorse, averaging 21.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists with a respectable .624 true shooting percentage.Bojan Bogdanovic (bilateral Achilles tendinopathy), Jaden Ivey (excused personal reasons) and Jalen Duren (bilateral ankle soreness) did not make the trip to Charlotte, per the #Pistons.

The Pistons are an Eastern Conference-worst 15-46 and completely out of the playoff race, so it makes sense to exercise caution with any player they might consider part of their future. They traded for Bogdanaovic in September and extended him in October, so he should be part of the picture for 2023 and beyond. In any case, resting him at every opportunity should help the Pistons in their race to the NBA's basement. Their priority for the remainder of the season should be positioning themselves for a high draft pick in what could be a transformational 2023 NBA draft.
Bogdanovic's next chance to see the court will be in a Wednesday night home game against the Chicago Bulls.
