Former No. 3 NBA Draft Bust Featured In Blockbuster 7-Player G League Trade
Yes, the NBA's trade deadline is coming up this Thursday. But the G League has stolen the spotlight momentarily with a 7-player blockbuster that features several former NBA players, including Jahlil Okafor—the former No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
OFFICIAL: The Delaware Blue Coats acquire the returning player rights to Bruno Caboclo, Matt Mooney, Shabazz Napier, and Jahlil Okafor from the Mexico City Capitanes in exchange for the rights to Skylar Mays, Justin Robinson, and Raphiael Putney.

The Delaware Blue Coats—the Philadelphia 76ers affiliate—have acquired the rights to Okafor, Bruno Caboclo, Matt Mooney, and Shabazz Napier from the Mexico City Capitanes in exchange for Skylar Mays, Justin Robinson, and Raphiael Putney.
What makes this even more interesting is that it was the Sixers who made Okafor the No. 3 pick eight years ago, and now the 27-year-old big man is technically back in the Sixers' organization... sort of.
Kyle Neubeck of the Philadelphia Inquirer, however, throws some cold water on any thoughts of a Sixers "reunion" with Okafor. He says that the 6'10" center "hasn't played in a G League game since December 21st and has been out with a "lower body injury" since then, which to my understanding was pretty serious. A reunion tour isn't happening."
In addition, Okafor is on a G-League contract, meaning that even when he does return, the Sixers couldn't just call him up. They'd have to sign him to an NBA contract or a two-way deal.
But just in case you were still interested in seeing Okafor in action from earlier this season, here's one of his highlight moments:
On his head!! 💪
