Mavericks To Sign 3-and-D Wing After His Buyout
The Dallas Mavericks traded their best perimeter defender and wing player in the Kyrie Irving trade, now they're taking a step to fill the void left behind by the departure of Dorian Finney-Smith. The Mavs are signing 3-and-D man Justin Holiday.

Holiday spent just one game in Houston, watching from the bench, after his acquisition in a trade deadline deal from the Atlanta Hawks. He has agreed to a buyout from the Rockets, and multiple reports say he'll be signing on with the Mavs.
The 33-year-old Holiday was unhappy with his lack of playing time in Atlanta, and was happy to be dealt, but it's likely that he wouldn't have seen many more minutes with the rebuilding Rockets, who are committed to playing their young players.
The 10-year veteran is a career 36.4% shooter from distance, and can play some good defense on the perimeter; those skills will come in handy on the Mavericks with Finney-Smith gone.
The Rockets have also bought out Danny Green and waived John Wall after acquiring them in trades at the deadline.
Holiday has averaged 8.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 24 minutes per game throughout his decade in the NBA.
