Minnesota Timberwolves' D'Angelo Russell Ejected Against Denver Nuggets
The Minnesota Timberwolves are not having the kind of game they hoped. On a frustrating night against the Denver Nuggets, guard D'Angelo Russell was ejected in the third quarter for arguing with an official.
Russell earned a technical foul for pestering an official from the bench. At the time, the Timberwolves trailed the Nuggets 87-53. Russell had logged 10 points, two rebounds, and three assists in 19 minutes before his exit.8:30 left in the third and we have the Nowell-Forbes-Ryan-Knight-Garza lineup on the floor.

That's two two-way players and three minimums. Think the Wolves are getting ready for Utah.
And as I type this D'Angelo Russell gets ejected from the bench.
Russell has been a valuable player this year for the Timberwolves, averaging 18.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game in his fourth season with the team. Not that it mattered much tonight. This game was already completely out of hand before his technical foul, and it only deteriorated following his exit. The Nuggets entered the fourth quarter with a commanding 110-75 lead.
With their loss tonight, the Timberwolves will fall to 29-28. They remain in position for a spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament. They'll have a chance to redeem themselves when they visit the Utah Jazz Wednesday night in the second game of a back-to-back.
