NBA Rumors: Heat "Focused" On Trading Kyle Lowry With 1 Destination In Mind

In the "should he stay or should he go" rollercoaster that has been Kyle Lowry's world these past few weeks, the latest rumor out of Miami has the Heat "focused" on trading him today. And the likely destination is a reunion with his old championship teammates in L.A.

According to Heat Insider Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, the team is targeting the Los Angeles Clippers for a Lowry trade by today's 3:00pm ET deadline.

Lowry and the Clippers' Kawhi Leonard and Norm Powell teamed up to help the Toronto Raptors win the 2019 NBA championship, and the feeling in Clipperland, despite Lowry now being almost 37, and having his worst season in 14 years, is that they can recapture that magic in L.A.

The Heat would like to get off the remaining $29.6M on Lowry's contract for next season.

The Clippers have been linked to a number of high-profile point guards in the run-up to today's trade deadline, as Reggie Jackson and John Wall have not been the answer for them this season.

The Heat's Jimmy Butler calls Lowry "his dawg", and listen to his final comment under his breath, addressing the Lowry trade rumors:

“He ain’t going nowhere.”

Butler, however, isn't in the Heat's front office. We'll see if he's right by 3pm ET.
