NBA Rumors: Reunification of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant "Still Looms"

Kevin Durant made his way out of Brooklyn to the Phoenix Suns; that came after Kyrie Irving bailed on the team and was sent to the Dallas Mavericks. But their two current separate paths could still come together, according to reports.

NBA Insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports has heard that the Suns were trying to land Durant and Irving as a package at the deadline, and their efforts to reunite them might be done yet.

The Suns approached the Nets about trading for Kyrie Irving once the All-Star point guard asked out of Brooklyn, sources confirmed to Yahoo Sports, and there were rumblings around the league that Phoenix was hoping to somehow land both Irving and Durant.

That’s not just a window into another present reality. A future reunification of Durant and Irving with the Suns will loom on the periphery of both Phoenix and Dallas’ stretch runs.

Irving has already told the media that he won't answer any questions about whether he plans to re-sign with Dallas after the season.

Insider Chris Haynes also made similar comments about the Suns pursuing Irving after the season on his #thisleague podcast with Marc Stein.

Meanwhile, there are still two months of regular season, and the playoffs still to go; in the world of Kyrie Irving, the possibilities of what could happen between now and then are endless... and completely unpredictable.
