NBA Rumors: Top 3 Candidates For Atlanta Hawks Coaching Vacancy
The Atlanta Hawks are already deep into their search for a replacement for deposed head coach Nate McMillan. Reports are already circulating about who might be up for the job, and with that, let's have a look at three top candidates.
1. Quinn Snyder
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the former Utah Jazz head coach is the leading candidate. The 56 year old resigned after taking the Jazz to the playoffs for six straight years. Overall, in his eight seasons at the helm in Salt Lake, he had a .585 winning percentage, going 372-264.
He is also a former Hawks' assistant (2013-14), so he is familiar with the organization.
2. Charles Lee
The Milwaukee Bucks assistant was also in Atlanta, under his current Milwaukee boos, Mike Budenholzer.
Charles Lee – who served as an assistant under Mike Budenholzer in Atlanta from 2014-2018 – will be a serious candidate for the Hawks’ head coach opening, sources said. Lee was promoted to associate head coach of the Bucks last offseason. https://t.co/rKNx3VlGQX

Shams Charania says Lee will be a "serious candidate" for the Hawks' opening.
3. Kenny Atkinson
His name has come up for numerous coaching vacancies in recent years, and he has head coaching experience with the Brooklyn Nets for four seasons from 2016 to 2020. He didn't have a ton of success there, making the playoffs just once, and holding a .383 winning percentage.
I told you guys months ago Kenny Atkinson was the play. Let's see if they go get him.

Kenny is going to want to know how the front office is working, and who has a voice. If there is any confusion to how it will work here, he will not take the job.@ATLHawks
He is, however, a highly respected assistant, and will get a good look by the Hawks.
