Breaking: Shams Has Update On Kevin Durant's Injury Status
The news was frightening earlier on Thursday, when reports out of Phoenix warned of Kevin Durant possibly being out for the rest of the regular season with his ankle sprain suffered in last night's warmups. But the reports later in the day are much more encouraging for Suns fans:
Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks with his left ankle sprain and return based on rehab progress, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Swelling has gone down in the ankle, which Durant injured slipping in pregame warmups Wednesday.

NBA Insider Shams Charania is reporting that swelling has gone down in the ankle, and that Durant is expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks. He adds that the Suns and KD are hopeful of progress during the re-evaluation window that will allow for him to return to action shortly after the two-week period.
Durant left the Footprint Center last night in a walking boot after turning his ankle while going up for a pre-game warmup layup. He finished his warmups, but sat out the game.
The 13-time All-Star has averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in his three games thus far with the Suns (of which they have won each of them), while shooting the lights out, at 53.8% from long range.
The Suns are currently in 4th spot in the Western Conference, three games up on the Golden State Warriors. We'll see where they emerge after this 2-to-3 week window without Durant.
