ICYMI: Former NBA No. 6 Overall Pick Passes Away
As a 7-footer selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft, he carved out a fine career for himself over 12 seasons in the NBA. It's unfortunate to announce that Felton Spencer has passed away at the age of 55.
Felton Spencer was one of the sweetest, kindest, people I’ve ever known. Grew up in KY together & have known each other since age 15. Played on the last Kentucky all-star team to sweep Indiana together. Played against one another in college & the pros. A sad day.

In his 12-year NBA career, Spencer posted averages of 5.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 640 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.
He was also a University of Louisville standout who held the all-time school record for highest field goal percentage (62.8%).
Former NBA player Rex Chapman, who played against him in college and in the pros, writes that Spencer "was one of the sweetest, kindest, people I’ve ever known."
RIP to a gentle giant.
