The 23-year-old Brown is in his 4th NBA season, having gotten into 34 games with the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this season. He averaged 4.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in just 8.5 minutes per contest. The Clips waived brown about three weeks ago from his two-way deal.
Players are only allowed to be active for 50 games in the NBA on a two-way contract, and Brown had reached that limit.
The 7'2" center has appeared in 126 career games over four seasons, averaging 5.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in stints with the Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers.
He'll bring some size depth to the Knicks' frontcourt, behind Mitchell Robinson, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jericho Sims.
