Philadelphia 76ers Star To Miss Crucial Matchup On Monday Night
Monday night's battle between the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets has been hyped up recently as a clash of the top two MVP candidates in the league right now, but unfortunately, fans that were anticipating this one got some bad news early on Monday.
Joel Embiid has unfortunately been ruled out of this one with a calf injury, and while it shouldn't effect his MVP candidacy, heading up against his main competition, this will no doubt play in some voters minds when the time comes.
Beyond that, this should still be a fantastic showdown between two of the best teams in the NBA, and with so much importance placed on every game due to the seeding come playoff time, there's plenty on the line in this one.ESPN Reporting with @Ramonashelburne: The showdown of MVP frontrunners is off tonight: Sixers are ruling out Joel Embiid (calf) vs. Nikola Jokic and Nuggets. Embiid attempted to work out this morning, but team is taking a precautionary approach given density of recent schedule.
