Raptors Set Franchise Record In Win Against The Nuggets
The Toronto Raptors were on a three-game losing streak going into the game against Denver last night. However, that all changed after they got the win and broke their slump. The main reason for that was their strong start. The Raptors set a franchise record for most points in a quarter with 49 in the first.
The previous record that was held by the Raptors franchise for most points in a quarter was on April 10th, 2021. It was a game against the Cavaliers where Toronto had 47 points in the first quarter which led to a blowout win 135-115.The Raptors scored a franchise record 49 points in the 1Q 🤯

Similarly, the Raptors would win last night in a blowout against the top-seeded Western Conference team, 125-110. In the same game, a Raptors player would record a season-high. Fred VanVleet had eight threes in the victory. It would mark the third time he's done it in a Raptors jersey, which is also a franchise record. He would finish with a team-high 36 points.
Toronto got a much-needed win after a five-game road trip where they went 1-4 in closely contested games. One of those road losses came at the hands of the very same Nuggets they beat last night. It was a tightly contested game where Scottie Barnes was ejected by referee Scott Foster in what would later become a controversial call.VanVleet tonight:

Denver is currently on a four-game losing streak and trending downward in the Western Conference although they still hold the number one seed. As for the Raptors, they currently sit in the ninth seed, six games out of sixth place. If they manage to make a run and hit that mark, they would avoid the play-in. Otherwise, they'll compete with seeds 7-10, for the final two spots which start on April 11th.
