Scoot Henderson Shut Down For Rest Of Season
Scoot Henderson has already shown what he can do this year, and is all set up to be the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft come this June. For that reason, the G League Ignite—who won't be making the playoffs—see no reason to keep playing their dynamic guard, shutting him down for the year.
Scoot Henderson, projected No. 2 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, has been shut down by the G League for the remainder of Ignite's season, a league official told ESPN. Ignite is unlikely to make the playoffs and the G League feels Henderson has shown enough this season.

The Ignite have five games left in the season and don't want to risk running him out there any further. The 19-year-old has dealt with some injuries this year, to his ankle, his sinus, and his head (concussion protocol).
Henderson has shown some incredible athleticism and ballhandling abilities this season, and he'll go into the draft as the favorite to go No. 2 behind the generational talent, 7'4" Victor Wembenyama of France.

Scoot danced, dribbled and dodged his way through 19 games for The Ignite, averaging 16.5 points, 6.5 assists and 5.4 boards over 30.7 minutes a night. In the G League Showcase Cup earlier in the season, in six games, he averaged 21.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists, while shooting 47% on threes.
