Gilgeous-Alexander hit 11 of his 23 field goal attempts and sunk all 13 of his free throws. Amazingly, It was his 37th 30+ point game of the season and his third in a row after sitting five games with an abdominal strain. For the season, he has averaged a colossal 31.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game with a respectable .509 field goal percentage. His leap to the upper echelons of NBA superstardom is one of the more pleasant surprises of the 2022-23 season.
The win moves the Thunder to 32-35 and 12th in the Western Conference. As things stand, they're only a game or two out of the play-in tournament. They're probably at least a year or two away from genuine contention, but given the ascent of Gilgeous-Alexander and their treasure trove of future draft picks, the Thunder are in a good spot.
The Thunder face the San Antonio Spurs later tonight in the second game of a back-to-back.
