The Los Angeles Clippers find themselves in a precarious position heading into Game Three against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, as they've now learned that Kawhi Leonard has been ruled OUT with a knee sprain.

He aggravated his knee in Game 1, played through it in Game 2 and is expected to be day-to-day ahead of Game 4, a source told @wojespn. pic.twitter.com/kWWsrOjUN5
After hurting the knee in Game One, Leonard continued to play through it, leading the Clippers to victory in that contest, and a 1-1 split after two games, by averaging 34.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting an insane 60% from long range. Imagine what he could do on a good knee.
Unfortunately, that type of superhero performance will not be able to continue, at least for Game Three.
What I am told is that there is not a specific play identified as the cause of Leonard's knee sprain. While team is not concerned about a long term absence -- Leonard is out tonight, has a matinee game Saturday, and then will have two days off before Monday's Game 5 in Phoenix. https://t.co/ATW5lfTNaO

The Clippers aren't concerned that this will turn into a long-term absence, and Kawhi is listed as day-to-day ahead of Game Four on Saturday afternoon. After that, Game Five will be held in Phoenix on Monday.
