BREAKING: Memphis Grizzlies Star Wins 2023 Defensive Player Of The Year
The Memphis Grizzlies have been a team on the rise for a number of years now, and while most will point to Ja Morant as the catalyst behind that turnaround, Jaren Jackson Jr. has had just as much impact on this franchise.
On Monday, he was officially honoured for the contributions to the Grizzlies on the defensive end, as Jackson was named the 2023 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, beating out the other two finalists in Evan Mobley and Brook Lopez.
Jackson took another massive step forward this season, averaging 6.8 rebounds a game, as well as 1 steal per game and a whopping 3 blocks, and is a big reason why Memphis were able to grab the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, and it's safe to say that this award was well earned.JAREN JACKSON JR.
