Dallas Mavericks Officially Eliminated From Playoff Contention

At the 2022/23 NBA Trade Deadline, the Dallas Mavericks made the splash addition of superstar point guard Kyrie Irving, with many expecting this to take them over the line as title contenders in the Western Conference, but unfortunately, it's been all downhill since that point.

On Friday night, the team made their intentions clear, as they benched their most important players, officially being eliminated from playoff contention, and allowing them a better shot at keeping their first round pick (if it was outside the top-10, it would be going to the Knicks).

Now, without any key depth and the potential of losing Irving this off-season, the Mavericks will have to go back to the drawing board to see if they can build a winner around one of the biggest superstars in the entire NBA.
