Report: Los Angeles Lakers Not Expected To Pursue Extension With Veteran Guard
The Los Angeles Lakers may have had an impressive playoff run, but ultimately, they came up short once more, being swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, and now they face an off-season with more questions than answers.
One of their biggest pieces underperformed in a big way in the playoffs, as D'Angelo Russell came up short in many ways, and now, it has been reported that the Lakers will not be pursuing a max extension with the veteran point guard.
With LeBron James winding down his career, the team will be looking to go on one last run, and if they don't bring back Russell or Austin Reaves, they'll have some key moves to make, but after his performances in the playoffs, no one can blame the Lakers here.REPORT: The Lakers will NOT pursue a max extension with D’Angelo Russell, per @mcten. pic.twitter.com/RVt42F7JYj
