Report: Nick Nurse Has Preferred Destination In Job Search
Perhaps Adrian Griffin has his old boss to thank for securing his new job as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Former Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse, under whom Griffin was an assistant for many years, reportedly "pulled out of consideration" for the Bucks job, leaving Milwaukee to go with Griffin.
But according to a report on Saturday, Nurse has a different preferred location in mind anyway for his next coaching job.
Per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer:
It's no secret that Nurse has a great relationship with Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey. As the Houston Rockets general manager, Morey hired Nurse before the 2011-12 season to coach the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets' NBA G League affiliate.
Sources have said that reuniting with Morey is very much enticing to Nurse.
Nick Nurse, who interviewed for the #Sixers head coaching job on Monday, is “very enticed” with the idea of reuniting with Daryl Morey, @PompeyOnSixers reports.

Nurse is plenty familiar with the Sixers personnel, having played them in tough playoff series twice in the past five years, not to mention countless regular season matchups.
Nurse's tactics (and Kawhi Leonard's 4-bounce buzzer-beater) left Sixers star Joel Embiid weeping after the Toronto Raptors knocked them out in the 2019 second round, en route to the NBA title.
The Sixers were not able to get out of the second round under Doc Rivers for the next three seasons either, leading to his firing earlier this month.
The 55-year-old former Coach of the Year, Nurse interviewed with the Sixers on Monday and then with the Suns on Thursday. He seems to have boiled down his choice to those two clubs, but the Morey connection, and how "enticing" that is, could be the deciding factor, according to today's report.
