Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: New Team Linked to D'Angelo Russell
The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to move on from D'Angelo Russell after his disappointing postseason. As a result, Russell is starting to generate some interest in the league, and a new team has emerged in the sweepstakes - the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies are in a tough situation at the moment, as Ja Morant has been suspended by the team after another scandal. As a result, the Grizzlies are understandably considering external options if Morant's suspension from the league turns into a long one. With the Grizzlies looking to build off of their strong 2023 regular season, it would make sense for them to be aggressive and bring in another star like Russell.
Russell appeared in 71 games this season split between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lakers, where he averaged 17.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. Overall, after a solid season like this, it would make sense for the Grizzlies to add him to their group.
We will now need to wait and see if the Grizzlies bring in Russell from here.
