Dallas Mavericks Rumors: Team In Pursuit Of 20 PPG Scorer In Trade
The Dallas Mavericks have plenty of scoring in their backcourt after bringing back Kyrie Irving, and they've fortified their defense and toughness by signing-and-trading for Grant Williams from the Boston Celtics.
Now the Mavs have their eyes set on adding some scoring to the perimeter, as they're in pursuit of Detroit Pistons' leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic. That's the report from NBA Insider Tim MacMahon:
I have heard some rumblings about (Dallas) revisiting the Bojan Bogdanovic talks... It would add some offensive firepower. (But) I don't know if they've got the assets to pull that off.
The Mavs have been linked to Bogdanovic this offseason, but haven't yet been able to pry him loose from Detroit, who held on tight to their 20+ point scorer at the trade deadline as well.
Dallas is shopping longtime wing Tim Hardaway Jr. as a trade piece. Interestingly, he has a good relationship with Pistons' franchise player Cade Cunningham after mentoring him this past season on his shin injury.
The 34-year-old Bogdanovic set a career-high with Detroit this past season with 21.6 points per game while hitting on 41.1% from deep. He has two years and $39M remaining on the extension he signed with Detroit last season.
