Indiana Pacers Announce Extension To Young All-Star
The Indiana Pacers made one of the most shocking moves of the NBA last year when they traded Damontas Sabonis for young point guard Tyrese Haliburton from the Sacramento Kings, and after one season, it's safe to say that both teams came out as winners.
Now, after breaking out into an All-Star in 2022-23, the Indiana Pacers have officially signed Haliburton to a five-year, max contract of $260 million, as they are betting on his size, playmaking and defence, all which appeared to be at an elite level in 2022-23.
In 56 games, Hali averaged 20.7 PPG, 10.4 APG and 3.7 RPG, improving this team as a whole and everyone around him, and after adding Bruce Brown in free agency, it's clear that this team believe they can take the next step, and that a young, blossoming star is the one to lead them there.BREAKING: All-Star G Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers are agreed on a five-year, designated maximum contract extension that could be worth up to $260 million, his agents Dave Spahn and Aaron Mintz of @CAASports tell ESPN.
