NBA Rumors: 6 Teams Interested in Malik Beasley

The Los Angeles Lakers declined to pick up their team option on Malik Beasley, making the sharpshooting guard a free agent. At $16.5M, the Lakers couldn't fit him into their salary structure.

But with a career 37.8% mark from three-point range, and the proven ability to put up close to 20 points a game in starter's minutes (as in 2020-21), there are plenty of other teams out there that have expressed interest in the 6'4" free agent.

According to HoopsHype, the following teams have already reached out to Beasley:

Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers' interest may or not change, depending on the many machinations going on with their trade talks involving James Harden, and also possibly Damian Lillard.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns are cap-challenged, but are still looking to surround their big three of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal with reasonably-priced pieces.

Toronto Raptors

Shooting from the perimeter is still a need for the Raptors, even after the addition of sharpshooter Gradey Dick in the Draft.

Milwaukee Bucks

A team looking to add some final touches to set themselves up for another deep playoff run.

Dallas Mavericks

It would seem that the Mavs could use more size and defense on the perimeter, so the fit here for Beasley doesn't make as much sense.

Golden State Warriors

The Dubs have plenty of shooting, naturally, but with the loss of shooting guard Jordan Poole in the Chris Paul transaction, Beasley could fill a role off the bench.

There's word that the Lakers could stay in touch with Beasley through his free agency, and possibly circle back to him on a more team-friendly deal. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 81 regular season games this past year, and it seems he's got a pretty robust market.
