NBA Rumors: Raptors Linked to Rising Young Point Guard

It appears that the Chicago Bulls, who will already have to do without Lonzo Ball for a second straight season, are now getting set to part ways with restricted free agent point guard Ayo Dosunmu.

“It is increasingly unlikely that Ayo Dosunmu will be back with the Bulls, this is from sources close to him. He doesn't believe he will be back either. We were hearing Toronto is interested and is a likely option," said Dan Bernstein on 670TheScore.com

At 6'5", the 23-year-old Dosunmu can play on or off the ball, and plays a Raptors' brand of defense, pestering the opposition and creating turnovers. He would make for a nice add to a backcourt that's in need of more depth at the point, after the departure of Fred VanVleet in free agency.

Dosunmu has averaged 8.7 points and 2.9 assists in his two NBA seasons, and started for the Bulls 51 times this past season, and in 91 of his 157 NBA games.

As for the Bulls, they added free agent Jevon Carter to their backcourt mix from the Milwaukee Bucks this summer; he'll join Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine and Coby White as the Bulls get set for another year without Ball, out with a lingering, mysterious knee ailment.
