Pistons Put Guard on Trade Block
The Detroit Pistons roster is loaded with big men and guards, and they're expected to look to trade from that depth in order to bring in some help at forward.
One point guard who's now on the trade block, according to reports, is Killian Hayes. With the acquisition this summer of Monte Morris, Hayes has been pushed down the depth chart at the point.
According to MLB Insider Marc Stein, the Pistons have been trying to unload him.
Recent trade talks between Detroit and Dallas, I’m told, were sparked by the Pistons’ determination to ease a backcourt logjam by trading Killian Hayes and gained little traction.
While the Mavericks are indeed among the teams with a longstanding interest in acquiring Detroit’s Bojan Bogdanović, their trade priority at this point of the offseason is still believed to be an upgrade at center. The Pistons have been seeking no less than a future first-round pick for Bogdanović for months.
So while teams continue to ask about Bogdanovic, GM Troy Weaver is holding firm in his high asking price, while trying to work out a way to send Hayes elsewhere.
In the meantime, with a stockpile of big men as well, one wonders if Marvin Bagley III or James Wiseman could enter trade discussions at some point.
