Top 7 NBA Free Agents Still Available

While the Damian Lillard and James Harden situations are on simmer, and the major free agents have grabbed the biggest bags, there is still some talent to be had for teams in need.

As of July 20th, here are the top 7 NBA free agents—restricted and unrestricted—still on the board:

  1. Christian Wood
  2. Kelly Oubre Jr.
  3. PJ Washington (r)
  4. Ayo Dosunmu (r)
  5. Hamidou Diallo
  6. Jaylen Nowell
  7. TJ Warren
There have been plenty of rumors of teams with interest in Wood of late, not the least of which, the Los Angeles Lakers. But two new teams have recently entered the fray as well. Wood has shown the ability to be a 20-10 big man (points/rebounds), but his defensive deficiencies hold his value down. He isn't expected to get much more than the veteran's minimum.

Oubre Jr. and Washington, both of the Charlotte Hornets, are next on the list. Washington is a restricted free agent, and the 3-and-D forward averaged a career-high 15.7 points and 4.9 rebounds during the 2022-23 season. Oubre Jr. also set a career-high, cracking the 20-point barrier for the first time. Two teams are said to be interested in the pair

Dosunmu has been a starting point guard for the Chicago Bulls in 91 of his 157 NBA games over his first two seasons. But as a restricted free agent, he's not expected to be back in the Windy City next season. One Eastern Conference rival is said to have him on their radar.

Diallo, who made $5.2M this past season, has done nothing but perform in his bench role with the Detroit Pistons over the last two years, averaging 10.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 51.9% from the floor.

Warren was a consistent 15+ PPG scorer for several seasons before going down with consecutive stress fractures in his foot and essentially missing two entire seasons. He came back last year and it was a slow indoctrination back into the NBA game, as he averaged 7.5 points in 16 minutes per game, in 42 contests split between the Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets. If he's fully healthy and can rediscover his scoring touch, he could be a steal for some team.
