NBA Rumors: 3 Top Landing Spots For Tyler Herro
Trade talks continue to circulate around the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers, as the teams try to figure out a way to get Damian Lillard to his first (and only?) choice of destinations, in South Beach.
The name tossed around most frequently as being involved in the deal, from Miami's end, is Tyler Herro. He's just about set to start a 4-year, $120M contract extension that he signed last year with the Heat. He just might be starting it in a different locale.
Herro is obviously none too pleased about hearing his name in the rumors, and has stripped any mention of the Heat from his social media bios.
But the Portland Trail Blazers aren't at all interested in Herro, as they've got a loaded backcourt already even without Dame, including Anfernee Simons and the incoming Scoot Henderson. So where does Herro end up in a three-or-more team scenario?

Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have already been drawn into the Lillard talks as a third team in the discussions, and after having lost a ton of shooting already this offseason with the departures of Seth Curry, Joe Harris and Patty Mills, Herro could come in with 20 PPG and take up a lot of the slack. He could make for a terrific partner to Mikal Bridges to help lead the Nets offense.
San Antonio Spurs
A team with a load of cap space, and some terrific upside in the frontcourt with Victor Wembanyama, Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan; Herro could come in and be a great piece in the backcourt to take up a chunk of the scoring load.
The Spurs also loom as a strong contender to potentially help facilitate Damian Lillard ending up with the Heat.

San Antonio has the needed contracts and cap space to absorb Tyler Herro and Jusuf Nurkic.
Adding Herro to their enticing young core, plus a center to help take…
Utah Jazz
Pretty much the same situation as the Spurs; cap space to spare, and their two main stars are in the frontcourt (Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler). Though having two recent Sixth Men of the Year (Jordan Clarkson the other) would make for an interesting combination with Herro.
