NBA Rumors: 3 Teams Have Interest in Free Agent Blake Griffin

Blake Griffin isn't the high-flyer he once was, but he's still shown he can be a valuable player to have on a contender's bench while offering a few minutes here and there.

As one of the notable veterans still available on the free agent market, we're getting word that three teams have shown interest in the six-time All-Star.

Boston Celtics

Let's begin with the incumbent. Griffin played 41 games with the Celtics last season, even getting the start in 16 of them. He averaged just 14 minutes per game, however, the lowest of his 13-year career, as were his other numbers: 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds. Can he do more in his age-34 season?

Los Angeles Clippers

Another alma mater of Griffin, he was part of the famed Lob City Clippers in the middle of last decade. In fact, his departure in the 2017-18 season marked the official end of L.A.'s aerial lob squad. Griffin earned five straight All-Star appearances while with the Clips, and it would be a nice Hollywood story to see a reunion.

Philadelphia 76ers

While with the Celtics last season, he had a few battles with the Sixers' bigs; could he be looking at joining Boston's rivals this year? Philly suffered a big blow this summer in the frontcourt with the ACL tear suffered by backup big man Montrezl Harrell (he had successful surgery on the knee today). Griffin could be a replacement.
