Dwight Howard Meeting With NBA Championship Contender
In a stunning development, 8-time All-star Dwight Howard, who played in Taiwan last season, is meeting with the Golden State Warriors, as they look to fill a backup big spot. Howard was one of the top centers -- if not THE best -- in the NBA a decade ago, but has been essentially on the outside looking in for the past couple of years, hoping for another chance. It appears he might get that with the 4-time champs. He'll meet with them next week.
According to The Athletic's Anthony Slater, Howard is a "real option" for the Dubs.
"Superman", as he once dubbed himself, has a championship ring from a backup role he filled with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
Last year, he signed in Taiwan when no NBA team was interested and even tried to recruit other aging, shunned stars like Carmelo Anthony and DeMarcus Cousins.
