Jrue Holiday Asking Price Revealed; 3 Title Contenders In Pursuit

The Portland Trail Blazers finally dealt Damian Lillard. But they're even more heavily involved in trade talks now, after the Lillard deal. Former Milwaukee Buck, 5-time All-Defensive Team guard Jrue Holiday is on the block. And serious contenders are coming calling.

The asking price from the Blazers will be hefty, and according to reports, it starts with two first-round draft picks, and then expands to promising young players.

“The price for Holiday likely starts at two first-round picks, but several teams in the mix have the means and motivation to go beyond that," says Insider Jared Weiss of The Athletic.

And among those several teams, the ones engaging right now, include the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers.

Insider Adrian Wojnarowski says those three teams are "moving quickly" to try to obtain the defensive stalwart.

ESPN's Bobby Marks even feels that the Clippers would be better off with Holiday rather than the long-rumored James Harden deal. But it would cost them a lot more than The Beard would. The other option, says Marks, would be a Blazers, Sixers, Clippers three-way deal that moves Holiday to Philly and Harden to LA.

The Celtics, for their part, are desperate to add a defensive stopper like Holiday after having traded away the heart of their defense in Marcus Smart this summer.

And we shouldn't forget about the Miami Heat, who might make a push for Holiday as a "consolation prize" after losing out on Lillard.

The Blazers could have themselves the bidding war for Holiday that they'd hoped they'd get for Lillard.
