NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Star Not Expected To Sign An Extension
The Cleveland Cavaliers made the massive move last summer to land Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz, and while they took a major step forward during the 2022-23 season, the team couldn't make it out of the first round, and now, it appears they'll be losing Mitchell to the free agent market.
While many expected this to be the case, ESPN's Brian Windhorst has now reported that Spida will not be signing an extension with the Cavaliers next summer, as he expects to draw plenty of attention in a solid free agent group.
For the longest time, Mitchell has been connected to the New York Knicks, and after they didn't pull the trigger on a ridiculous trade demand from Danny Ainge, they'll be targeting him in free agency, along with several other contenders.Donovan Mitchell is not expected to sign an extension with Cleveland this summer, per @WindhorstESPN pic.twitter.com/2znK1rVW5H
