San Antonio Spurs Sign Big Man To Multi-Year Extension
All eyes will be on the San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama this season. But another big man that the Spurs are grooming is also on the rise. They've locked up center Zach Collins through 2026 with a new two-year extension.

The deal is worth $35M for the soon-to-be 26-year-old. Collins's rise last season completed a stunning comeback story, after he missed nearly two full seasons with ankle injuries. In 2022-23, he set career-highs with 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists, while shooting 37.4% from three, all in about 22 minutes a night. He even started 26 games.
Collins was the 10th overall pick of the Sacramento Kings in 2017, and spent his first three years in the league with the Portland Trail Blazers. But he was forced to undergo multiple ankle surgeries that cost him the entire 2020-21 season, and all but 11 games the season before.
The Spurs' core is really starting to take shape, as they also signed guards Devin Vassell and Tre Jones to extensions this past summer.
