Indiana Pacers Star Has Interesting Take On NBA's Newest Tournament
The first ever in-season NBA tournament begins tonight, and despite the majority of fans not being too interested in it, it will take place nonetheless, with it being more opportunity for players to win some hardware and build momentum and chemistry as they look towards an NBA Championship.
With players not yet 100% buying into the tournament, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton opened up on the new tournament, giving forward his idea of what should happen for the winner; "I think the greatest incentive for everybody to do it would be an automatic playoff bid. If it was a playoff spot, I think everyone would take it very, very serious, right?"
Ultimately, beyond the monetary victory and a new, less meaningful piece of hardware for their teams, there seems to be no reason for fans to get motivated and interested in the tournament, so perhaps Haliburton's idea could be the motivating factory behind getting everyone more involved.Tyrese Haliburton thinks the winner of the in-season tournament should get an automatic playoff bid
