Chicago Bulls Make One Player Untouchable

The Chicago Bulls just might blow it all up, with Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic all potentially to be dealt by February's trade deadline.

But one Bulls player, it seems, has been made untouchable.

“Caruso is arguably this regime’s greatest success story and he is the perfect embodiment of the culture the franchise wants to project. Trading him would be painful for this management team; I can assure you that," says Bulls Insider KC Johnson.

Two teams seem to be interested in acquiring Caruso — the Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Wizards. For LA, they seem to realize the mistake they made in letting him go in the first place.

Caruso is the heart of the Bulls' defense with his bulldog mentality on that end of the floor. He's also currently averaging 9.8 points, 3.4 boards and 2.3 assists while shooting an outrageous 47.8% from three-point range. The ultimate 3-and-D.

He earns $9.4M this season, and is only partially guaranteed ( at $3M) for next year, before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
