Report: Cavaliers Turn Down This Bulls Trade Offer for LaVine

The Chicago Bulls are apparently working hard to try to trade Zach LaVine, but so far haven't had any luck. A report from Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports indicates that the Cleveland Cavaliers turned down the Bulls offer of LaVine for All-Star guard Darius Garland.

“Chicago has also attempted swapping LaVine for other All-Star players, such as pitching Cleveland on the concept of acquiring Darius Garland from the Cavaliers, sources said," per Fischer.

The Cavs are sticking with their core of Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen for now, to see how far it can take them. Although they got the brutal news today that two of them, Mobley and Garland, will be undergoing surgery and will both be lost for 6-8 weeks.

As for the Bulls, short of landing an All-Star, Fischer reports, their high price includes asking for an established starter plus a young player with upside and then first-round draft capital. This approach, however, isn't drawing flies at this point.

A report earlier this week had LaVine selecting one team in particular that he'd like to go to, and it's certainly a team that likes to bring in star names, so that will be an intriguing development to watch.
