Sixers Sign G League Rookie of the Year to NBA Deal
The Philadelphia 76ers have added some beef to their frontcourt, signing last season's G League Rookie of the Year, 21-year-old former Memphis Grizzlies forward Kenneth Lofton Jr.

It's a two-way contract for the big fella, who is listed at 6'6", 275 pounds. He was said to be heavier than that when this season kicked off, but he was on an intense program, and revealed earlier this month that he shed close to 20 pounds in three weeks.
Still, his minutes with the Grizzlies did not improve, and he was stuck at just 6.6 minutes a night, in his 15 appearances this season, averaging just 2.6 points. Last year, in 24 games with Memphis, he played just over 7 minutes per contest. But in the G League in 2022-23, he was an absolute beast, averaging 20.2 points per game, 10.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 steals.
This rookie is SPECIAL! 🤩

Lofton was waived by the Grizzlies earlier this week to make room for the return of Ja Morant to the roster.
The Sixers are 8-1 in their last nine games and 20-8 overall on the season. They are the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
