SIGNING: Nick Nurse Brings Another Former Raptors Guard To Sixers
Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse was thrilled to bring in Kyle Lowry last month, his former point guard from their championship days with the Toronto Raptors. Now, another former Raptor he's always been a fan of has landed in Philly as well.
The Philadelphia 76ers are signing guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. to a two-way NBA deal out of first-place Delaware Blue Coats affiliate, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Dowtin, who played for Nick Nurse in Toronto, has averaged 21.4 points and 7 assists in last 12 G League games.

Jeff Dowtin Jr. has been signed to a two-way deal by the Sixers. As always, he's been performing well and showing his skills in the G League, this year for the first-place Delaware Blue Coats. Dowtin has put up 18.1 points, 5.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals, while shooting his usual strong percentage from beyond the arc, at 38.4%.
Undrafted in 2020, Dowtin started to make his mark in the G League by helping the Lakeland Magic to the 2020-21 NBA G League title.
In 34 games in the NBA (25 with Toronto last season), Dowtin holds averages of 2.4 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 10.8 minutes per game. In addition to the Raptors, he had brief flings with the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, and Golden State Warriors.
