Top 5 Betting Favorites For Clutch Player of the Year Award

Last season, the NBA debuted its inaugural Clutch Player of the Year award, with its recipient receiving The Jerry West Trophy. It honors the player who best displays
extraordinary shooting at the end of close games. De'Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings was the first winner.

This season, we now have a clear betting favorite to win the second annual Clutch Player award—DeMar DeRozan—and he's been pulling away with it in recent days and weeks.

The top five betting favorites start with DeRozan, at -170, followed by only one other player who's even remotely in contention, Steph Curry, at +130.

Rounding out the top five are Damian Lillard at +2500, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at +3000 and two-time MVP Nikola Jokic at +5000.

Of course, of late, DeRozan, who was also a finalist for the award last season, is performing at an All-NBA level at all times of the game, not just in the clutch.

Over his last six games to Rosen is averaging 29.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, five assists, and threw in a 46-point masterpiece Wednesday night for good measure.

But his Clutch highlight reel is extra astounding:

On the season, DeRozan is averaging 23.4 points, 4.3 boards and 5.3 assists.
