Nick Nurse Signs Former Raptor to an Extension With Sixers
Although he never got a huge amount of playing time in Toronto, it was well-known that point guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. was a favorite of then-Raptors coach Nick Nurse. He's since been brought in to Philadelphia—Nurse's current home—on a two-way deal, and now, has himself a two-year contract.
The Philadelphia 76ers signed Jeff Dowtin to a two-year deal, which includes a team option for the 2024-25 season, league sources told @hoopshype. Sixers coach Nick Nurse previously coached Dowtin with the Toronto Raptors and they’ve since reunited in Philadelphia.

The contract includes a team option for the 2024-25 season according to insider Michael Scotto's sources, no it's no harm, no foul for the Sixers if they decide to go in another direction this summer.
Dowtin has played in nine games for Philly this season, recording 4.7 points and 2.2 assists in 12.6 minutes per night. He's also making one three-pointer a game, hitting on 50% of his shots from beyond the arc. Dowtin's Per-36 Minutes averages are impressive and show promise: 13.4 points, 6.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals.
Dowtin had a breakout performance with the Delaware Blue Coats in a recent G League playoff game, pouring in 41 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
