Pending Free Agent DeMar DeRozan Reveals His Plans For The Future

The Chicago Bulls have some big decisions to make this off-season, not the least of which is the future of superstar DeMar DeRozan. His 3-year, $82 million contract that he signed in free agency three years ago worked out well for both DeRozan and the Bulls. He averaged 25.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists over the life of that deal.

But now as an impending free agent once again, the 15-year veteran, in fact, is putting the ball squarely in the Bulls' court, telling them he wants to come back, so ... make it happen, or in his words: "Figure it out".

They know it. Everybody knows my stance. I lay it down from this perspective: I want to come back. Everybody else figure out what you need to figure out. And that’s just how I look at it so I don’t stress or worry about what’s what. I made it clear this is where I want to be. The powers that be just need to figure out what needs to happen. Everybody knows my mindset.

DeRozan explained why he wants to return to the Windy City.

This is where I want to beI love ownership. I love everything about the city and the franchise, top to bottom—the front office, the staff we have. It’s one of those places that gives me motivation to see everybody get what they deserve and feel what winning is like again
You watch me, how hard I play, how hard I want to give success to this organization, this city, that’s my main focal point. I always want to finish a job.

DeRozan will be turning 35 this summer, so it'll be very interesting to see what kind of a deal the Bulls might offer.

With new hope that Lonzo Ball could return for next season after missing the last two+ seasons with his troublesome knee injury, bringing back DeRozan could leave the Bulls with a dynamic one-two punch.
