Davis was also ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution, according to reports. He was found guilty of conspiracy charges late last year, and making claims of dental and medical procedures that never occurred. His cohort in crime, William Bynum, has already been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Big Baby, who was known for having a hefty appetite, and played in the NBA at close to 300 pounds, is surprisingly looking on the bright side of his sentence, and even... having a little fun with it...

“That’s the only way you can stop me from eating hamburgers is to put me in jail!" he exclaimed on a selfie video, claiming he'll use this experience to "get in shape."
Davis, 38, won a title in his rookie season with the Boston Celtics in 2008, and last played in the NBA in 2014-15.
The fraud case came to light in 2021, when 18 former NBA players were accused of stealing $2.5 million through fraudulent medical and dental claims. Last August, the ringleader of the scheme, Terrence Williams was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
