NBA Rumors: 3 Likely Trade Destinations for Malcolm Brogdon

With Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons the future (and present) backcourt of the Portland Trail Blazers, does it make sense for the team to keep giving nearly 30 minutes a game to a 31-year-old Malcolm Brogdon? Wouldn't a chunk of those minutes be better served given to the young duo, while Brogdon could be used to bring in some other valuable assets?

In addition, Brogdon is entering the final year of his contract, and it would behoove Portland to get something for him now.

Per Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype, "rival executives are monitoring" Brogdon, feeling that Portland could do something before next month's draft. He averaged  15.7 points and 5.5 assists in 39 games this season (another injury-riddled campaign), shooting 41.2 % from three-point land.

These three teams are likely trade destinations for the veteran combo guard:

Milwaukee Bucks

Ever since losing Jrue Holiday's defense in the backcourt, the Bucks have been a significant presence. Brogdon would be able to provide some of that missing D, while offering another secondary scorer on the floor to take some pressure off Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.

San Antonio Spurs

The basketball world continues to try to find a good point guard option for the Spurs to help Victor Wembanyama continue to thrive and take things to the next level. Brogdon doesn't command the ball like some of the other names that have circulated, like Trae Young or a certain Cleveland guard, leaving more usage for Wemby.

Orlando Magic

The Magic could use some veteran experience in the backcourt, and one who can drop threes at the rate that Brogdon does would do wonders for taking the sagging pressure of rival defenses off Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.
