NBA Trade Rumors: Top 3 Trade Destinations For Kyle Kuzma
The Washington Wizards are in full-on rebuild mode, and there's no doubt that forward Kyle Kuzma, at 28 and at the peak of his prime, is a luxury that just doesn't fit for the Wiz right now. They're hoping to use him as trade bait and lure in another first-round pick in the 2024 Draft next month, giving them three in total.
Coley Cleary of HoopsHype says that Kuzma is primed to be moved. "After drawing significant interest ahead of the trade deadline, including a near deal that sent him to the Dallas Mavericks, Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma is expected to be coveted again on the trade market by rival teams heading into the draft, league sources said.”
Kuzma averaged 22.2 points and 6.6 rebounds while shooting 33.6% from three point land in 70 games this season.
Here are three of the top trade destinations for Kuzma.
Dallas Mavericks
With Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving making up an All-Star backcourt, the Mavs could use a premier scorer up front as well to make things really difficult on the opposition. Yes, they nearly dealt for the 6'9" Kuzma at the trade deadline, so the interest is clearly there.
Portland Trail Blazers
A team that has some nice building blocks in Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe could use a proven veteran scorer like Kuzma to advance their rebuild to the next level.
Orlando Magic
An up-and-coming team in the Eastern Conference, the Magic could use another strong shooter on offense, and while they've been linked to an interest in Golden State Warriors free agent Klay Thompson, Kuzma is a closer fit to the Magic's timeline with their other young stars.
And speaking of "fit", Kuzma never disappoints on that front either:
