BREAKING: Chris Paul Joins Forces With Victor Wembanyama

Now this is a pairing we're all down to watch unfold. Future Hall of Famer Chris Paul, released by the Golden State Warriors earlier Sunday, has agreed to join up with the game's next great superstar, Victor Wembanyama.

Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report dropped the news from his sources that CP3 plans to sign with the San Antonio Spurs on a one-year deal worth $11 million. The Warriors had waived Paul, getting out from under the $30 million he would have been owed next season.

Paul had a great talk with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, says Haynes, and was "sold on the culture and opportunity to help elevate the game" of Wembanyama. CP3 is "eager and motivated to showcase he’s still an elite guard in this league," reports Haynes.

Wembanyama, 7'4", is the most exciting young talent in the game, and is ready to build on his Rookie of the Year and All-Defensive Team campaign by joining forces with one of the game's all-time greatest point guards. Wemby's game could go through the roof this coming season.

Paul, a 12-time All-Star, averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 assists in Golden State last season and has career marks of 17.5 points and 9.4 assists.
