Fan Favorite Isaiah Thomas Gets Workout With Contender

He played just six games this past season in the NBA after going without a job in the 2022-23 campaign, but fan favorite Isaiah Thomas is still chasing the dream, and insider Shams Charania reports that the 35-year-old had a workout this week with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Milwaukee is leaving no stone unturned in its search for a backup point guard this summer, as they've also recently worked out John Wall, who has been out of the league for three of the past five years, including the just-completed season.

Thomas was a beloved star for the Boston Celtics earlier in his career including back-to-back All-Star appearances in 2016 and 2017 before a series of debilitating injuries derailed his career. In his last season in Boston, Thomas had several issues with his right hip, including loss of cartilage, arthritis and some inflammation to go along with a torn labrum.

He finally had surgery on his hip in 2018 only to have another procedure in 2020, and he likened his condition at that time to "playing on one leg". He also admitted that he even needed help from his kids to put his socks on.

IT signed a pair of 10-day contracts with the Suns late this past season, which were then converted to a full contract, but he only got into six games of the 14 he was in uniform for, and also played in one of the four playoff games Phoenix played before getting swept in the first round. Thomas averaged just 3.2 minutes per appearance.
