Huge Development in the DeMar DeRozan Sweepstakes

The DeMar DeRozan free agent frenzy may be close to a conclusion. In a big development on Saturday, the Chicago Bulls free agent is traveling to Sacramento to meet with the Kings.

The word spread fast in SacTown, and the team's rabid fans started gathering outside the Golden 1 Center, chanting and building excitement over the impending arrival of DeRozan.

The two teams and the DeRozan camp are trying to work out a sign-and-trade, though some obstacles still need to be worked out, as we reported on Friday.

The six-time All-Star and the Bulls have officially declared an end to their relationship, and he will be moving on, apparently imminently.

DeRozan, a 25-point-per-game scorer, would be a huge piece for the Kings at forward, as they try to add to their All-Star pairing of guard De'Aaron Fox and center Domantas Sabonis, and get to the next level in the Western Conference.

The Kings snapped a 16-year playoff drought in 2023 when they went 48-34 before losing in the first round. This past season, they won 46 games, and lost in the play-in.
