Kyle Lowry Makes Free Agent Decision for His 2024-25 Destination
After joining his hometown Philadelphia 76ers late last season, Kyle Lowry became a free agent this summer and toyed with the idea of joining the Phoenix Suns. But he has now decided that home is where the heart is, and he'll be returning to the Sixers on a one-year deal.

Lowry made the announcement himself with an Instagram video:
Lowry averaged 8.1 points and 4.2 assists in 28 minutes a night last season, split between the Miami Heat and Philly. He started 20 games in 23 appearances for the Sixers after signing on the buyout market last season, averaging eight points with 4.6 assists and shooting just over 40% from three point range.
This will be Lowry's 19th season in the NBA, and he owns career marks of 14.3 points and 6.2 assists while shooting 37% from long range. He's a six-time All-Star and has a championship to his credit, helping lead the Toronto Raptors to the title in 2019.
Now, he'll attempt to help Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George—who recently said he nearly joined Lowry in Toronto five years ago—to the promised land.
